Graham Cummins get international call up !

  City forward Graham Cummins was today selected for the u23 Irish squad. It is a well deserving achievement fior Cummins, who has proven his abilty for get this call up all season with 15 league goals and 17 in all competitions.

Republic of Ireland Under-23 manager Paul Doolin today named Cork City striker Graham Cummins in his 18-man squad for the International Challenge Trophy match against Estonia later this month.
Ireland travel to Estonia for the final group match of the campaign knowing that they must defeat their hosts in order to be in with a chance to qualify for the semi-finals. Ireland narrowly lost their opening match of the tournament, going down 2-1 to England.
Commenting on the call-up, City boss Tommy Dunne told CorkCityFC.net: “This is a fitting reward for Graham. He has been in very impressive form for us all season and the fact that he has scored so many goals has been very important to us, as has his excellent work-rate. It is no surprise to me that his performances over the course of the season have attracted interest from clubs both here in the Airtricity League and cross-channel, and I am delighted that he chose to commit his future to the club a number of weeks ago.”
Cummins, who is the Airtricity League First Division’s top scorer with 15 league goals, said: “I’m delighted to have been called up to the squad. This is the first time I have been called up to represent my country, and it’s an honour to have been given this opportunity.”
